This is Toons Music & Film. This spot is where all the beat diggers looking for some rare jewels comes to. Mean I’ve found some of the rawest records here and some of the most magnificent masterpieces of independent films by stupendous directors, for example one of my favorite’s Vincent Gallo Buffalo ‘66. You can also catch him in Graffiti Rock a Hip Hop classic. Matter of fact this is the first place to carry my book called Distrakt Presents Study Your Lessons - Hip Hop Origins and rent out The Distrakt DVD Documentary. This spot holds many treasures. The first record I bought from here was Roy Ayers Ubiquity Red Black & Green and it only got better. Going to take you around to some of the record stores I frequent. Today's I was at Independent Records. This spot is the first place to put my first CD Calculate Depth Thru Introspect on the shelf. The rest is history. They have several locations around Colorado. They have a great grasp of the independent artist and they respect the hustle. I find myself in there from time to time picking up any and everything. When you come to Colorado stop by and seem them and while your at it pick up any Distrakt missing pieces.

Was at the Waffle House getting some eats with one of my homeboys named Milogic http://www.myspace.com/milogic. We were building on the music biz, struggles and whatnot. I had some cheese eggs, crispy hash browns and wheat toast. We were the only ones in there. The cook was outside on a smoke break.

The dope thing is that they got these digital jukeboxes now that is connected to the internet that downloads digital music. So instead of a cat coming in switching out 45 records or compact discs, you just feed it a couple of bills and type in the artist name or song and it will look it up. Once it finds what your looking for it downloads it for a $1. Boom!!! Any joint you want right there. Your not stuck with just the top 100 Billboard hits anymore. You can actually say “hey I feel like hearing that song by Distrakt called “Few Bars”. So click on the Jukebox in the panoramic photo up above and listen to a few joints by yours truly.

When I start my creative process I have to sometimes ride my bike, drive around the hood bumping my beats or take a walk on one of my favorite trails to get the thoughts together. Once the vibe is set, the concept is set, it's a wrap after that. Then I start to put together weird hot crazy beats and rhymes. The pen and pad... always gets a daily dose. Whatever is on my mind it's going down. You hear me?
